Meet Canyon Ferry Sailing Center
It was when Pat, with a long-time passion for sailing and sailboats, met Marc, who grew up sailing in Switzerland, that Canyon Ferry Sailing Center was born. Pat has 27 years of experience sailing on Canyon Ferry Lake, racing in the northwest, and rebuilding sailboats from the keel to the tip of the mast. Marc has extensive sailing experience, from cruising to racing, and has taught sailing lessons in Switzerland. Both are US Sailing certified instructors.
In the heart of beautiful Montana, surrounded by mountains lies Canyon Ferry Lake with its rich history. Using the power of wind as your mode of transportation, cruise around the lake and discover the mystical Cemetery Island or White Earth.
Meet Our Crew
I am born and raised in Switzerland, but calling Helena my home since two years. Barely walking was old enough for my dad to take my for my first sail on the waters of Lake Biel. Not too much longer and I was sailing the lakes of Switzerland and the seas of Europe on my own. Racing against other kids of all nations in an Optimist. Followed by 420, 470, Laser and Splash Red. Teaching college students in Zurich sailing on Laser for over eight years. My beautiful wife introduced me to equally beautiful Montana. Where I want to turn my passion of sailing into my job.
Pat started sailing in Kansas while attending college. His first sailboat was a 12 foot "Topper" sailboat. It was there his passion for sailing started. He has since been sailing for many years racing and cruising. He has sailed everything from a 12 foot to 50 foot sailboats. Raced in the J24 circuit and cruised in the Virgin Islands. He has also sailed to Hawaii. His passion also extends to fixing boats from stem to stern. He plans on continuing growing his love for sailing with the advent of CFSC...
